The British Security Industry Association is the trade association for the private security industry in the UK. Its members provide over 70% of UK security products and services and adhere to strict quality standards.

Formed in 1967, the BSIA provides its members with a single representative voice to government leaders and agencies, British, European and world standards bodies, and industry stakeholders including police as well as the industry regulator and inspectorates.

The Security Institute is the UK’s largest professional membership body for security professionals, representing over 2,800 members across a wide range of security disciplines. It supports members through networking, mentoring, career resources, CPD, professional qualifications and specialist interest groups.

The Institute is committed to raising professional standards across the security sector and manages the Register of Chartered Security Professionals on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. It also provides opportunities for organisations to engage with the profession through its Corporate Partnership programme.
