Audax showcases a new partnership with Hounds for Heroes at the International Security Expo, Olympia
Hounds for Heroes provides specially trained assistance dogs
to injured or physically disabled HM Armed Forces and Emergency Services
personnel, service or non-service attributable. The charity can fully fund the whole working
life of each assistance dog, removing any financial burden from the human hero they
are partnered with.
Audax supplies world-leading body worn cameras to UK &
International police forces, UK councils for parking & civil enforcement, fisheries
protection, Retail customers, NHS hospitals, Airports and other high profile landmark
security, border and port security, nightclubs and private security companies
undertaking event management – to name a few.
The charity partnership with Hounds for Heroes is a
particularly poignant one for Audax Managing Director, Adam Liardet, who is
himself a retired Army Officer having served in Northern Ireland and Bosnia
with the Royal Green Jackets.
Captain and Nobby’s story…
Funds raised by Adam and the Audax team will continue to support
the aftercare of assistance dog, Captain,
the red fox labrador. Captain’s beneficiary, Nobby, spent 11 ½ years
in the Army and 18 years in the Police. As a result of treatment for a
malignant tumour in his neck and suffering complications causing brain damage,
he is permanently in a wheelchair, unable to verbally communicate and requires
24/7 care.
Captain has given Nobby more independence in the home and
while out and about. But his help isn’t just physical assistance, Captain also
provides emotional support and companionship. For Nobby’s family he provides
invaluable peace of mind that they don’t have to worry about him when they are
not close by. Captain will always raise the alarm.
Adam Liardet, Audax Managing Director says: “There
are numerous veterans’ charities that talk the talk but organisations like
Hounds for Heroes really do make an evidenced difference to the veterans they
support. It’s a real privilege to be
able to support both Captain and Nobby.”
