Sarah Schubert is Chair of the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management (ICPEM). One of the first people on the scene of a train crash as a teenager she witnessed first-hand the challenges of responding to incidents, the aftermath and recovery. Sarah has an MSc in Risk, Disaster and Resilience from University College London. Her research identified the opportunity for a paradigm shift in how ratings agencies can use lead resilience measures to promote improved resilience and have better assessment of company risk for investment decisions. Sarah currently advises on resilience strategies, design and operations across a variety of sectors.
