Chair, CBRN-UK

Peter is Chair of CBRN UK, the UK’s special interest group dedicated to CBRN industry, government agencies, academics and professionals. Operating with the support of ADS Group, CBRN UK as grown to represent more than 50 companies associated with the sector. This includes close relationships within UK Government, UK Ministry of Defence and leading scientific & academic groups, bringing together the best UK capability to domestic and international opportunities.

Prior to this role, Peter was seconded to the Department for Business and Trade, UK Defence & Security Exports in the role of Sector Specialist for CBRN and the UK SME community for security and public safety.

Alongside these commitments, Peter represents two companies in the CBRN sector as Managing Director, PELA Systems – a leading CBRN network & sensor fusion developer, and Managing Director – EMEA, M2DCON UK – a globally renowned CBRN decontamination solutions manufacturer. As an SME owner, Peter is a passionate advocate for SMEs in defence and the CBRN sector, engaging with agencies, end-users and government representatives across the world as they seek to improve their capability and knowledge.

Peter comes from an established, yet unconventional background in CBRN and defence, having developed and patented the first portable, integrated CBRN detection network for use by operators across the world. This work was inspired by the need to reduce the risk to operators and utilise alternative technologies, AI and communication networks to reduce operator burden and risk. Published in several industry journals, Peter continues to represent both collaboration and true knowledge base within CBRN.

Away from his professional life, Peter enjoys life with his family in rural Wiltshire and is a self-confessed petrol head.
