Patrick is an academic leader with an internationally recognised scholarly profile in arts, culture, performance, and questions of urban living. Committed to real-world, interdisciplinary research, he has facilitated collaborations across sectors and disciplines, including resilience/emergency planning professionals internationally. Patrick co-directs Performing City Resilience with Dr Stuart Andrews: together, they are writing two books (Rethinking Resilience: Performance Practices of Contemporary New Orleans [LSU Press] and Performance, Place and Crisis ) and leading the AHRC funded project ‘Social Distancing and Reimagining City Life’. He is Associate Professor of Performance and Culture, and Head of Film, Media, Theatre and Performance at Northumbria University.
