Elliot Thornen
Space Resilience Manager,
UK Space Agency
Elliot Thornen is the Space Resilience Manager at the UK Space Agency and a member of its Space Security and Resilience team. He works across government and industry to strengthen the resilience of the UK civil space sector, helping organisations to understand, anticipate, withstand, respond to and recover from disruptive events.
His work addresses risks including cyberattack, space weather, spectrum interference, critical national infrastructure dependencies and wider national security concerns. He also supports sector capability-building, incident preparedness, exercising and trusted information-sharing, translating strategic risk into practical action.
Elliot brings extensive Defence; technical and operational experience developed through a career in Electronic Warfare and strategic and tactical communications. He subsequently designed and delivered specialist Electronic Warfare training internationally for BAE Systems.
Combining operational judgement with civil space expertise, Elliot works at the intersection of Defence, government and industry. His focus is ensuring that the UK’s increasingly important space systems, services and organisations are prepared for an evolving and complex risk environment.
