Daniel Blackwood is a seasoned security professional and entrepreneur with over two decades of expertise spanning event, stadium, rail, and corporate security. Starting as a door supervisor, Daniel quickly developed a passion for the security industry, particularly in the events sector, and has since built an impressive career defined by professionalism, precision, and people-first leadership.
In 2011, he founded ResponSec, a trusted name in the greater London events industry, recognised for its operational excellence, tactical acumen, and unwavering focus on client satisfaction. Under Daniel’s leadership, ResponSec has delivered bespoke security and crowd management services across major stadiums, venues, festivals, transport hubs, retail and corporate sites, often under tight timelines and high-pressure conditions.
Daniel is a vice chair for the United Kingdom Crowd Management Association (UKCMA)
His career highlights include working as the Safety Officer at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, A Crowd Safety Manager at London Stadium, and as a security consultant in Africa, America and Europe. ResponSec supports large-scale festivals and live events for clients, including Krankbrother, Identity and Operation London Bridge.
Daniel holds Level 5 Crowd Safety Management, Level 4 Spectator Safety Management, is a trained behaviour detection officer, and was one of the first delegates to be trained in Show Stop procedures.
Beyond his business, Daniel is focused on giving back to the local community and inspiring younger generations. As well as working as a Volunteer Cadet Leader with the British Transport Police, Daniel mentors and sponsors several young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
