Head of Risk Management - HS2 Tunnel Project, SCS Railways

Head of Risk Management at SCS Railways for the Integrated project team delivering HS2 London tunnels.

Responsible for design, implementation, testing and exercising of business continuity, resilience and risk mitigation measures for the project. Working with internal and external partners on resilience and security measures to support the project delivery and minimise risks to London.

Prior to this, over a career of almost 30-years with Thames Water, I worked in customer services, project management, managed multi-disciplined teams within front line operational and currently specialising in Security, Resilience and Asset Protection.

My last role at Thames Water of Head of Asset Protection gave me responsibility for the company’s preparedness and response capabilities under government legislation(s). I owned the Physical and Operational Security Strategy, Security Resilience, Continuity and Incident Management requirements across the organisation to protect business infrastructure, processes and protection from the effects of major failures or disasters.

This involved responsibility for a circa £100m security programme including installations of both physical and electronic measures across an estate of 4500 assets ensuring compliance to Critical National Infrastructure guidelines and British standards.
