Since 2005 Mr. Butterworth has been a Senior Analyst at MTI. He created the institute's proprietary database of attacks on public surface transportation. He has co-authored over 20 reports with Brian Michael Jenkins and will present on behalf of them both. Mr. Butterworth had a distinguished U.S. government career at operational, senior policy, and congressional levels. For five years, he was professional staff for the House Government Operations Committee. He was an executive for FAA aviation security, including five years as Director of Aviation Security Operations for commercial aviation, and then was responsible for security at the US Memorial Holocaust Museum in Washington DC for nearly 3 years. He holds an honors MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics
