Anuj Sahay

International Business Investment Lead for UK & Canada, Fairfax County Economic Development Authority
Anuj Sahay is the International Business Investment Lead for the UK and Canada at Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). He brings extensive experience in international relations, policy development, and business advocacy, having worked with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, embassies, and industry stakeholders. He serves as Co-Chair of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Defense Aerospace and Transportation Committees at the British American Business Association, D.C. chapter. At the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Anuj led the U.S.–South Asia Council, advocating for U.S. industry investments in the region. On behalf of Council members, he drafted the Bangladesh Data Protection Act 2023, Finance Act, and Defense policies, while addressing bilateral trade challenges between the U.S. and South Asian nations. Previously, at the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C., Anuj played a key role in trade and economic diplomacy, working closely with United States Trade Representative, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. His portfolio included Section 301 trade issues, the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, anti-dumping measures, countervailing duties, H-1B visa policies, and congressional updates on bilateral treaties and irritants. With a strong background in facilitating cross-border investments and working closely with the diplomatic corps of the U.S., France, and India, Anuj specializes in fostering business relationships and enhancing economic collaboration between the UK, Canada, and the U.S. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan, an MBA from INSEEC in France, and a Bachelor's degree from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. Fluent in French, Hindi, Spanish, and English, he brings a global perspective to his work in international trade and investment.
