Advocacy Officer, South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF)
On 8th of April 1984, PIRA murdered my 23 year old sister Mary and attempted to murder our parents, as they walked home from mass. I witnessed the immediate aftermath. In 2011, after the appointment by Sinn Fein of one of the murder gang to Special Adviser, and with no acknowledgement of the hurt caused, I lobbied for legislation which would prevent those guilty of a serious crime being gifted such a position unless they helped their victims families get answers. This became law in 2013. Since then I have highlighted "troubles" victims issues and I served for 5 years on the Victims Forum CVSNI . Today I work as an Advocate for SEFF, supporting survivors in ROI and NI.
