TSP Projects bring Security Solutions fit for UK Royalty to International Security Expo

Catherine Farrell

Visitors looking for an overall solution to security needs, whether it’s an airport, major event, utility or any other critical site, need look no further than stand F41 at this year’s International Security Expo.

TSP Projects has teamed up with HC Security Solutions and Zaun Limited to offer the full package to the exhibition’s 12.5k visitors, from CPNI approved fencing, architectural landscape products and temporary barriers, to intrusion detection PIDS, vehicle immobilisation, and even advance radar surveillance.

TSP Projects’ perimeter security sector has been in operation since 2005, originally as part of “Corus Bi-Steel” then “Tata Bi-Steel” and more recently under the wider TSP Projects engineering consultancy

In 2018, the historic town of Windsor has provided a fairy-tale background to two of the biggest social events in recent years - the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been followed in quick succession by that of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

With members of the Royal Family and celebrity guests in attendance and millions of TV viewers worldwide, security was of paramount importance. More than 100,000 people were estimated to have lined the route of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding procession alone.

Recent years have seen a marked increase in the use of vehicles in targeted attacks on soft targets around the world including the UK and Europe. It was therefore a source of pride that the TSP Projects’ range of Hostile Mitigation products, that form a part of the UK’s National Barrier Asset, were selected to form a “ring of steel” around the May and October events.

Deployed in advance of the big day by H2S2, the joint venture company that currently manages the NBA on behalf of the UK Home Office, TSP Projects Swing Arm Gates, Drop Arm Gates, Wall Units and Barges were positioned in and around the narrow streets and main roads of the town.  Strategically located, they enabled the Thames Valley Police to lock-down roads within seconds to prevent un-authorised vehicle access, keeping the crowds safe.

John Marshall, Associate Director at TSP Projects said:

“The TSP Projects HVM temporary range contains tried and tested products to provide robust solutions when it really counts. With the increased use of vehicles as the weapon of choice, it is reassuring to know the range carries some of the highest PAS ratings in the market place for temporary products.

“These products can be installed quickly and efficiently using a small well-trained team for short term or long-term deployments making it the go-to product for Police forces across the country.”

The TSP Projects HVM range can also be seen at other high-profile locations across the UK including iconic locations in central London such as Westminster, Tower Bridge and Lord’s Cricket Ground and as far north as Edinburgh.

TSP Projects also offer a number of permanent solutions which can be styled to fit in perfectly with their surroundings.

John Marshall added:

“We firmly believe that people have the fundamental right to attend their place of work, to gather in large numbers to celebrate or worship, and to go about their daily lives knowing that governments and institutions have taken appropriate precautions to ensure their safety.  We’re delighted to collaborate with the other big names in security, Zaun and HC Security Solutions, to offer a complete solution to those planning major events.

“We provide specialist solutions for perimeter security applications to protect people and vital infrastructure assets, including the design, installation and project management of robust physical security measures to protect against incidents both accidental and deliberate.

“As one of the principal suppliers of HVM products to the UK National Barrier Asset we are proud that our products continue to be used on a daily basis to protect people and iconic venues, providing peace of mind and protection from potential harm.”
