The ARX High Security Temporary Fence System is now ISO 22343 Crash rated
On a cold and windy February morning in 2026 the ARX Security team set off to the HORIBA MIRA Testing Facility to install the surface mount, temporary High Security Fence System for an ISO 22343 impact test with an N2A vehicle travelling at 30mph (48kph).
We had previously invested in a computerised model test to the ISO 22343 standard to give us an idea of how the fence would act during live testing which showed the vehicle being slowed and stopped with an 8m penetration beyond the datum line so this gave us confidence in setting up for a live test.
The fence itself is the basic ARX Security Fence System which had already undergone stringent BRE attack testing to achieve an LPS1175 A1 rating but by adding components to the fence including wire ropes and 650kg concrete blocks on every second bay we transformed the fence into a HVM barrier. The tested span of the tested fence was only 15 bays which equates to around 20m as a minimum which only took 50 minutes to erect complete with concrete blocks included.
Once the team at MIRA had completed their set up of cameras and monitoring equipment the siren blew at last and the test vehicle started to speed up then BANG and in only 8.9m the vehicle was brought to a stand still and could not progress any further as per the requirements of the standard.
The successful test gained the ARX High Security HVM Fence System a rating of:
ISO 22343-1:2023 Fence V/7200(N2A)/48/90:8.9/16.0
This now leaves ARX Security with a Fence System with a BRE LPS1175 A1 or B3 physical attack rating that can easily morph into a 3kN Crowd Loaded Fence or into an ISO 22343 Impact rated fence system allowing operators to easily adapt to perceived changes to threat levels on the ground.
