Varex Imaging

Varex Imaging is the premier supplier of high-energy X-ray imaging platforms for cargo screening systems. The Mi6 physics package combines an interlaced dual-energy Linatron® high-energy X-ray linear accelerator with Varex detectors and state-of-the-art software. Varex’s ACTISTM software offers optimized image clarity with image manipulation tools developed in conjunction with the requirements of customs organizations around the world. The interlaced Linatron with its pulse-to-pulse switching capability in combination with Varex synchronized pulse-control detectors provides the best material discrimination in the world.

The Linatron® Mi6SSMTM is a monobloc high-energy x-ray source with pulse-to-pulse dose and energy switching capability including High, Low, Dynamic and Occupied Vehicle Scan modes. By allowing our customer to select their own combinations of dose and energy, systems incorporating the Mi6SSM x-ray source can be designed to discriminate between materials based on their density characteristics as well as increase through-put of Cargo Scans by utilizing Occupied Vehicle Scan settings. System controls are delegated to a distributed on-board system and may be controlled using a PC.

The Linatron® MTM is a modular system. The control console, modulator, and RF unit are common to all model configurations. Only the X-ray head changes to match the application. The Linatron M is designed to fit mobile, gantry, and fixed installations.
