The Paragon is Garrett's flagship walk-through metal detector, designed for security operations that cannot compromise on detection performance while still moving people through the checkpoint. It combines the highest zone resolution available in security metal detection with an unusually wide configuration range, allowing a single unit to serve very different screening regimes across a site or an estate.

• 66 detection zones — granular alarm indication top-to-bottom and left/middle/right, unmatched in security metal detection. Search officers know where the target is before they begin, cutting secondary search time and improving search consistency.
• Ambiscan™ directional detection — cuts checkpoint footprint in half by allowing different detection targets on egress versus ingress through the same archway. Directional sensitivity also reduces operator fatigue from alarms triggered by passing traffic.
• Bilateral detection — evenly distributed detection from both sides of the passageway, simplifying multi-unit checkpoint setup and delivering superior target analysis compared with single-sided systems.
• Cellphone discrimination — optional settings allow mobile phones to be ignored while still detecting mass casualty weapons, substantially reducing divest requirements and nuisance alarms at high-volume event and venue ingress.
• Zero Touch™ NFC card reader — secure settings adjustment without mechanical insertion, meaning less wear and fewer card replacements over the life of the unit.
• Integrated UPS — internally mounted one-hour emergency power maintains screening through accidental AC disconnection or power outage, critical where a lane going down means an uncontrolled entry point.
• IP65 weatherproofing (IEC 529) — dust and moisture protection for outdoor event, stadium and temporary checkpoint deployment.

• Up to 200 distinct sensitivity levels, with 22 independently adjustable zone sensitivity boosts for targeting specific body areas.
• Three levels of tamper-proof access control, protecting settings from unauthorised adjustment.
• Overhead control unit with all electronics — LED, alarm light, bar graph and touch pads — integrated to eliminate exposed wiring and tampering.
• Complete automatic self-diagnostic programme.
• Random alarm feature adjustable from 0 to 100 percent, supporting randomised secondary search regimes.

• Passageway interior: 30" (0.76m) wide standard, 32.5" (0.83m) ADA-compliant; 81.5" (2.07m) high, 23" (0.58m) deep.

• Quick-Swap battery packs: standard 1.8Ah module for approximately one hour of operation; optional 14Ah module for up to 10 hours. Both integrated, tamper-resistant and plug-and-play — enabling full-day mains-free operation at temporary and outdoor checkpoints.
• Fully automatic 100–240 VAC power, 50/60Hz, 60W. No rewiring or switching required for UK supply.
• Operating temperature -20°C to +55°C on AC; humidity to 95% non-condensing.
• Scratch and mar-resistant laminate finish; heavy duty aluminium detection head and support.
