The complete double doorset was independently tested at DNV GL’s Spadeadam Test Site against the C15 threat: a 100 kg TNT-equivalent charge detonated at a 15-metre stand-off. Following the test, both door leaves remained intact within the frame, all fixings remained secure, and no visible damage or internal or external fragmentation was recorded.
The active leaf remained fully operable, maintaining safe egress and access following the blast. Although the secondary locking bolts on the passive leaf deformed, preventing that leaf from opening, access and egress remained available through the active leaf.
Recorded blast-pressure, impulse and deflection data provides valuable performance evidence for project-specific blast engineering and assessment using UFC 3-340-02, Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions.
The double doorset is also listed in the NPSA Catalogue of Security Equipment, providing additional confidence for engineers, security professionals and specifiers selecting protective doors for demanding applications.
