BSTP BSTP

BSTP is a set of test objects for measuring the imaging performance of X-ray systems for security screening of humans, whether the system is fixed, portal, transportable, mobile or gantry. It is relevant
to systems employing detection of primary radiation, backscattered radiation, forwardscattered radiation or any combination of these modalities to form two dimensional X-ray images. BSTP can be used on a routine basis to provide an ongoing check of imaging performance, particularly those aspects which are most liable to deterioration. Image quality is measured by visual and digital analysis of the test images. Recording these numbers over time will show any trend suggesting deterioration in imaging performance.

Test 1 Spatial resolution
Test 2 Wire detection
Test 3 Materials detection (may be by means of contrast sensitivity or edge detection)
Test 4 Materials detection in air
Test 5 Penetration

BSTP is supplied in a protective case with user manual and log sheet for human security screening systems.
