Available as fixed or openable systems, each window can be designed around the required opening size, blast loading, security level and operational needs of the project. The glazing, reinforced steel frame, retention system and structural fixings are engineered together to provide a complete protective assembly.
A fixed MM Engineering window assembly was independently tested at DNV GL’s Spadeadam Test Site against the C15 threat: a 100 kg TNT-equivalent charge detonated at a 15-metre stand-off.
Although the glazing shattered during the event, it remained contained within the intact assembly. The frame and all window-to-frame fixings remained secure, with no internal or external fragmentation and no damage to the internal witness pack. The test report assessed its performance as equivalent to B - No Hazard with reference to ISO 16933.
Our fixed blast-resistant window assembly is also listed in the NPSA Catalogue of Security Equipment, providing additional confidence for engineers, security professionals and specifiers.
