Cyber Security, the cyber threat and their impact touch all aspects of security. There is an increasing call not to separate cyber from other areas of security and there will be cyber elements to all of the conferences. However, it is such an important area that it mandates its own conference. The National Cyber Security Centre have confirmed they are sending a senior speaker to enable the UK national input to the foundation of this busy conference.

An area explored late in the day last year, that of bringing strength to the cyber environment through diversity and neurodiversity will now be central to the conference with Brian Higgins from Manchester University chair a diversity panel including Nicola Whiting, recognised as one of the leading cyber influencers in the country, Eliza May Austin from the ladies of London Hacking Society, Emma Philpott MBE from IASME and the cyber psychologist Berta Pappenheim da Silva, all contributing to this fascinating and leading panel discussion.  This is a panel of A list cyber influencers.

However, it is all too easy for those involved in Cyber Security to just think of Technical Solutions.  Will Geddes, a frequent commentator on television, radio and in the written press who deals with protecting high level assets and the consequences will look at Hacking the Human and the associated information and cyber risks.   This is an area that will be explored further by other speakers.

Resilience, the threats from an increasing number of endpoints, the IoT, data and more will all be explored and Vicky Gavin, the Data Protection Officer and Head of IS Assurance with  the Northview Group will give her insights into designing cyber resilience into business models, complementing what has been brought out in other conferences.

Topics will include:

  • The threat and challenges, a high-level overview
  • Bringing strength to the cyber environment through diversity and neurodiversity
  • Practical lessons and the IoT. Hacking everyday devices
  • The insider threat, networks and understanding the cyber threat of your people
  • Fake News, data and GDPR compliance
