Information we collect and it's use

The personal information you provide is being collected for legitimate business purposes and we ensure all data is managed lawfully, fairly and transparently.

This includes responding to enquiries, processing registrations, keeping you informed about our events, products, offers/competitions, newsletters and for research and analysis (e.g. market, customer, information and product analysis) to enable us to review, develop and improve the services which we offer and to enable us to provide you with information about Security Exhibitions Limited which we believe will closely match your preferences.

Sharing data

We do not rent or sell our customer e-mail lists.  We may give information about you to the following (who may use it for the same purposes as set out above):

  • To our partners and third parties that collaborate with us for an event for which you registered
  • Agents and third parties who fulfil any other services on Security Exhibitions Limited' behalf (e.g. to administer payments for purchases, despatch tickets and information etc).
  • To other delegates (only where you are attending in a professional capacity, e.g. business related events) where it is expected that attendees will have access to a list of attendees and their organisation but not the actual contact details.
  • To exhibitors where you have expressed interest in meeting with them gathered during the registration for our events.
  • To anyone to whom we transfer or may transfer our rights and duties with you (for example a sale of the business or the sale of a particular event).
  • If we have a duty to do so or if the law requires us to do so.

Lawful basis: most processing will be based on Legitimate Interests, some processing will be based on Contract and, where necessary (as above) some processing may be based on your prior Consent.

We value our relationship with you and by requesting information on, or registering / buying tickets to attend Security Exhibitions Limited’s events, you agree that we may use the contact details provided to us for our events as set out above.

  • All visitors to the International Security Expo should be aware that some of the exhibitors will be collecting images and biometric data on their stands for the purpose of demonstrating their capabilities.
  • The control of this data is the responsibility of the exhibitor and on the Protecting Urban Spaces Demonstrator (PUSD), it is the responsibility of the technology supplier. Questions relating to the processing and storage of that data should be directed to the exhibitor or technology supplier.
  • The organisers insist that all exhibitors that have such technologies must comply fully with GDPR including have clear signs displayed stating that they are collecting imagery and/or biometric data and must have their GDPR policy clearly on display detailing how that data is processed, stored and destruction policy.
  • Exhibitors are not to scan the badges of visitors without gaining their express permission beforehand and scanned data gathered for marketing purposes is not to be matched with biometric data gathered for demonstration purposes.
  • Visitors who do not want their biometric data recorded when they visit an exhibitor with that capability, should make this clear to a member of that exhibitors staff.


Security

We take precautions to protect your information. Access to all personal information we hold is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our servers are kept in a secure environment.

Retention

We will retain your information for as long as is necessary to provide you with the services that you have requested from us, or for as long as the law otherwise permits. Where you have not participated, attended or registered to attend or participate in one of our events, or otherwise engaged with us in five years, we will delete your data, unless we have an obligation to retain it for longer (for example for taxation purposes).


Updating your details and right to be removed

We will make every attempt to keep your personal data accurate, complete and up to date. If your personal information is incorrect, changes or if you no longer wish to receive information from us, we will correct, update or remove your information as swiftly as possible.
